Report canvas

The canvas is a fixed-size report page where you arrange chart, control, and display tiles. Multiple pages make a multi-page report inside one .asbx workbook.

Page tabs sit at the bottom of the canvas column (including in presentation mode for switching).

Answer Report pages from Optima (Keep with Answer checked) appear here too — document pages (optimaDoc) with a FileText glyph, not a tile Stage. Rename / delete them like any page.

Tiles

  • Drag to move; resize from edges/corners
  • Select for Inspector setup and styling
  • Undo / Redo (⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z) covers canvas tile and page edits

Tiles belong to a page. Filters from controls apply only to charts on the same page (see Variables).

Zoom

  • Status bar zoom presets (75% / 100% / 150%, zoom to fit)
  • Ctrl/Cmd + scroll or trackpad pinch to zoom the canvas

Presentation mode

Full-window viewing for sharing a screen or walking through pages.

EnterView → Presentation, Present on the ribbon, left rail, or F5
ExitEsc or Exit
Pages← / → (wraps)

Tiles are non-editable in presentation; chart cross-filter still works. Active filter pills can appear as a capsule above the canvas.

Annotations

Add callouts, thresholds, bands, labels, circles, brackets, and arrows from the Inspector while a chart is selected. Annotations save with the tile in the workbook.

Empty state

With no data, the canvas shows Add data cards (files, database, blank, sample). After data loads, use Insert / Visuals to place charts.
